Man dies after being struck by two vehicles in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are investigating an accident t where a pedestrian was struck twice by vehicles on the Southwest Freeway frontage road. The collision occurred around 8:05 p.m. on November 10 in the 6100 block of the SW Freeway. According to the driver of a red sedan, he was on the exit ramp when he struck a pedestrian who was reportedly running across the lane. The impact reportedly threw the pedestrian into a lane on the service road, where they were hit a second time by a white vehicle, possibly an SUV, which left the scene. The driver of the red sedan is currently the only witness, and no video evidence is available. Road evidence is also limited due to resurfacing work on the road. A 54-year-old male was shot in the torso and hospitalized after an incident at the Texaco gas station located at 5716 Gulf Freeway. https://youtu.be/qy9HTtckmxw Surveillance footage shows a Hispanic male suspect, likely in his mid-20s, approaching the victim’s truck. The victim appeared to be resting inside the parked vehicle when the suspect initially looked inside from the passenger side before moving to the driver’s side, opening the door, and startling the victim. As the victim attempted to drive away, the suspect began firing, striking the victim and causing the truck to crash into a ditch and damage a water main. HOUSTON, TX – A storage shed and a tree caught on fire near Fulton and Crosstimbers in north Houston just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The fire was quickly contained by the Houston Fire Department, and no injuries were reported. According to a witness named "Butterfly," who was the first on the scene, he immediately called 911 upon seeing the flames. "I wasn’t going to take any chances on somebody possibly being in there or sleeping," Butterfly said.
