On March 12, a shooting occurred at 3938 Caplin Street around 11:50 a.m., leaving a 64-year-old man injured. The suspect, Erick Andrew Cortez, 27, has now been apprehended and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges have been filed in the 337th State District Court. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in stable condition. Detectives from the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division reported that HPD patrol officers responded to the shooting and learned that Cortez had arrived at the location and shot the victim multiple times. The Houston Police Department is awaiting autopsy results on human remains found in Pasadena, Texas today which is believed to be related to the disappearance of 2-year-old Nadia Lee on October 18, 2022 according to a press release from the Houston Police Department. The suspect, Jyron Charles Lee, 26, is now charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court. He is believed responsible for the disappearance and possible death of his daughter, Nadia as well as his wife. Lee was charged with murder in the 185th State District Court in the death of his wife, Nancy Reed, 22 on October 19, 2022. A suspect has been charged in relation to the fatal shooting of a woman at 874 Yorkchester Drive on February 14th. The suspect, 17-year-old Owen Leonardo Vilanova-Ardon, has been charged with capital murder in the 337th State District Court. He is accused of being involved in the killing of Judy Walters, 65. According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Vinogradov and D. Six alleged members of the 100% Third Ward (103) Gang have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Houston on charges of aiding and abetting the use of a firearm to commit murder in aid of racketeering. The defendants are Shaquile O’Neal Richards, Alexandra Elizabeth Nicks, Deandre Watson, Marcus Dewane Christopher, Marquis Juwan Erskin and Mertroy Harris. The defendants are accused of involvement in a murder that occurred on London Street in the Third Ward in Houston in October 2017.
