HOUSTON, Texas (Jan. 18, 2025) – A blue Hyundai caught fire today in the main lanes of Interstate 10 near Wilcrest just before 6 p.m. The photo above is from one of our readers. It remains unknown if there were any injuries. Houston TranStar had three lanes shut down as of 8 p.m. More information will follow if it becomes available. Pedestrian struck and killed on Highway 6 in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a crash on Highway 6 just north of Bellaire Boulevard. https://youtu.be/7eV1gStBxKA The incident occurred around 10:02 p.m. when a 70-year-old female driver traveling northbound on Highway 6 struck a pedestrian crossing westbound on foot. The pedestrian, described as a Hispanic male between 50 and 60 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed and intoxication do not appear to be factors at this time. MALIBU, CA – The FBI is investigating a drone collision involving a firefighting aircraft that occurred on the morning of January 9, 2025. The aircraft, known as a “super scooper,” was conducting fire suppression operations at the Palisades Fire near Malibu when it struck an unauthorized drone flying in violation of an FAA temporary flight restriction (TFR). The collision caused a 3 x 6 inch hole in the left wing of the aircraft, which was able to land safely. Parts of the heavily damaged drone were recovered at the scene.
