Drunk driver charged after crashing into deputy on East Sam Houston Tollway

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A driver has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated after crashing into a Precinct 3 deputy constable’s vehicle during a traffic stop. Photo Courtesy of Pct. 5 The incident occurred Sunday evening in the 8800 block of the East Sam Houston Tollway North. According to Precinct 5, which is leading the investigation, a Precinct 3 toll road unit was conducting a traffic stop when it was struck from behind by a passing vehicle. The deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The suspect driver was transported by Life Flight in critical condition.
