Body recovered from Berry Bayou in East Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A deceased male was located in Berry Bayou after Houston Police were dispatched to the area on a report of a body in the water. https://youtu.be/Yn2G8_vaCq4 The discovery occurred near the 1600 block of Ahrens Street in East Houston. Upon arrival, HPD Eastside patrol officers and Houston Fire Department personnel confirmed the presence of a deceased male who appeared to have been in the bayou for some time. The HPD Dive Team was called to recover the body. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Fire Department continues to respond to fires at and near a former recycling warehouse on Semmes Street, with at least three notable incidents in the past 18 months, including one that caused over $1 million in damages. https://youtu.be/Cg-XXDvcszM Most recently, on May 17, 2025, around 8:34 p.m., HFD was dispatched to 2009 Semmes Street where flames were coming from a vacant warehouse known for illegal dumping of recyclable materials. Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on Northcrest Village Way in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of 5400 Northcrest Village Way and 21300 Parham Circle, according to Constable Mark Herman, Pct. 4. Deputies say a vehicle struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced deceased. The suspect vehicle is described as a 2016–2019 Chevrolet Malibu with chrome moldings around the windows and silver wheels. It is missing the right side mirror and has significant damage to the right rear quarter panel. Firefighter reportedly assaulted by arson suspect while responding to a trash fire

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston Fire Department firefighter was reportedly assaulted by an arson suspect while responding to a trash fire behind a Dollar General.
