Cody Johnson identified as Katy Freeway road rage shooting victim

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – 19-year-old Cody Johnson, has been identified as the victim of a fatal road rage shooting that occurred Friday night.

The shooting took place somewhere on the Katy Freeway between Beltway 8 and the Grand parkway in the westbound lanes. Johnson, who was driving a 2011 black Chevy Camaro with gold rims, was found on the feeder road outside of his parked vehicle around 8 p.m. by Harris County Sheriff Deputies just west of the Grand Parkway. He was on his way to pick up his girlfriend when the incident occurred. Johnson was airlifted to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Johnson was a recent graduate of Ridge Point High School. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that the shooting may have resulted from a road rage incident. No witnesses or suspects have been identified at this time.
