Suspect fatally shot by victim during attempted robbery at apartment complex

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A suspect was fatally shot following an attempted robbery in the parking lot of an apartment complex in northwest Harris County.

The incident occurred in the 6700 block of F.M. 1960. at the Standard of Champions Apartments.

According to police, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple calls about the shooting. Upon arrival, they spoke with a tenant who reported that he was accosted by two armed men in the parking lot. During a struggle, the tenant gained control of one of the suspect’s pistols and shot the armed suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased suspect is described as a Black male in his early to mid-20s, wearing a black mask at the time of the attempted robbery. The second suspect fled the scene in a silver-colored vehicle, possibly a sedan or SUV.

Authorities are currently interviewing witnesses, and the tenant is providing a formal statement. Due to recent management changes at the apartment complex, video recovery has been delayed.
