HOUSTON, TX – A shooting near the intersection of Richmond and Fondren took place Tuesday afternoon around 12:35 p.m.
According to Chief Diaz of the Houston Police Department, the victim, a Precinct 4 Deputy was shot while on his way to work. He was transported to Ben Taub hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say the 50-year-old deputy was on his way to work when he was murdered by a suspect while in his personal car. The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time.
The suspect is described as an Asian/Middle Eastern male, 35-40 years old, about 5’9 220-225 lbs. He has not been identified but was said to be wearing a grayish top and dark bottoms and is somewhat balding with dark hair.
The suspect left in a dark charcoal gray Chevrolet Impala with a unique bumper.
Update: The fallen deputy has now been identified by Constable Mark Herman as Deputy Maher Husseini. He had been with the Pct. 4 since 2021 and patrolled the South-Central District.
