HOUSTON, TX – 8 year old Ana, 15 year old Evelen and 11 year old Julisa Zelaya were killed in a fire that broke out yesterday morning at a condo complex in southwest Houston.
A passerby called 911 after noticing a fire in the 8100 block of Albacore just before 6 a.m.
Firefighters arrived 4 minutes later but it was already too late. A 21 year old who was able to escape the fire tried to go back in several times but was unsuccessful. He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
