3-year-old airlifted after nearly drowning in Enchanted Oaks

PAYNE SPRINGS, TX – A 3-year-old child was airlifted after Payne Springs Fire Rescue firefighters responded to a report of a drowning in Enchanted Oaks.

According to Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR), the call came in shortly after 10 a.m. Units immediately responded and began treating the child.

A landing zone was set up for UT Health Air 1 West at the soccer field and the child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

The condition of the child is not known at this time, but this is classified as a near drowning.

According to PSFR, this is the 3rd call on the lake involving pediatric patients this summer and are urging the public to “use the upmost caution on and around the lake with children”.
