HOUSTON, TX – One man was killed and another critically injured in a shooting Sunday morning in southwest Houston.
The shooting occurred around 2:51 a.m. on April 20, 2025, near the intersection of Beechnut and South Course. According to the Houston Police Department, Westside Division officers responded to a call initially reported as an auto-pedestrian incident.
Upon arrival, officers found two male victims with gunshot wounds. Both had been inside a vehicle with a third passenger, who was not injured. A nearby citizen was rendering aid before Houston Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victims to local hospitals.
One of the men was later pronounced deceased. The second victim remains in critical condition.
Police confirmed the shooting occurred on the street at that location. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet known.
