According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, between April 5 and April 15, 2025, detectives investigated a string of armed robberies at restaurants along the Highway 6 corridor in Sugar Land. In each case, a female suspect would pose as a customer, then threaten employees with a handgun and steal money from open cash registers.

On April 16, 2025, authorities conducted a surveillance operation along Highway 6 and identified a suspect vehicle linked to one of the earlier robberies. The driver, later identified as Ruby Silas, was stopped and taken into custody. A fingerprint match from one of the crime scenes further confirmed her identity.

Silas faces charges of Aggravated Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and additional unrelated warrants. Her total bond exceeds $250,000.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that her arrest is expected to clear at least five aggravated robbery cases from April 2025 in Fort Bend County. The investigation remains ongoing.

“I’m proud of the investigative work of our detectives and the collaborative team effort to capture this suspect,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “This is a reminder to those who want to inflict harm on others in our community that it will not be tolerated.”
