Man fatally shot during domestic disturbance in Atascocita, suspect arrested and charged with murder

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at a residence in Atascocita, resulting in the death of an adult male and the arrest of the suspected shooter.

At approximately 9 p.m. on February 8, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and a disturbance in the 12100 block of Glen Crossing Circle. Upon arrival, deputies detained an adult female and a juvenile male inside the home. Two young children were also safely removed from the residence.

Deputies discovered an adult male unresponsive on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Shortly after, another adult male was located and detained at a car wash behind the residence. A handgun and magazine were later recovered in the same area.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene to process evidence, interview witnesses, and execute a search warrant for the home. Investigators determined that a verbal altercation between the two men inside the house escalated when one of the individuals produced a handgun and shot the other multiple times. The shooter attempted to flee and dispose of the weapon but was apprehended nearby.

The suspect was transported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Homicide Office for questioning. Following the interview, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and approved a murder charge. The suspect was booked into the Harris County Jail without incident.

An autopsy will be conducted within 24 hours to determine the official cause and manner of death.
