HOUSTON, TX – Adiel Alexander Sandoval, 17, had his first court hearing overnight. He is accused of murdering three people, including two teenagers at the Tierra Del Sol apartment complex Tuesday.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Eddie Gomez, 17, Jonathan Hernandez, 17, and Juan Trejo Sandoval, 23.
According to HPD’s Homicide Division patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting on Tuesday and found Gomez and Hernandez unresponsive in the complex’s laundry room. Both had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics. Juan Trejo Sandoval was found just outside the laundry room with a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Sandoval and another suspect, both described as Hispanic males, engaged in a disturbance with Gomez and Hernandez in the laundry room, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Sandoval allegedly fled the scene immediately following the shooting.
In a probable cause court hearing held overnight, prosecutors presented allegations that Sandoval made self-incriminating statements regarding the murders to a family member. Bond denial was requested due to the capital murder charges.
The Judge referred the bond to his trial court but imposed conditions for future monitoring, including a curfew and movement restrictions within Harris County and surrounding areas.
Sandoval was not in the room during the hearing.
