Woman shot during attempted robbery outside PLS Check Cashers in north Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was shot and robbed outside PLS Check Cashers in the 34 block of Aldine Bender Road near Airline Drive on Wednesday after completing a transaction.

According to police, a woman was shot while attempting to avoid a robbery in a parking lot. The incident occurred as she returned to her car after cashing a check. While opening her car door, she noticed a man approaching from a nearby vehicle and became suspicious. She attempted to flee, but the suspect fired at least two shots, hitting her once.

A witness reported that the suspect stole property from the woman before fleeing the scene. The witness also provided a description and license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle with two individuals inside. Both individuals are currently detained as police investigate their involvement.

The victim, described as being in her early 20s, was taken to a hospital and is undergoing surgery.
