Authorities confirmed on Oct. 22 that Cavazos reached Denver International Airport and departed on a flight. Though police have stated he is not in imminent danger, family and friends are deeply concerned for his safety.

According to the family, loved ones do not believe Cavazos’ travel was voluntary or safe, noting unusual behavior leading up to his departure. Cavazos, who rarely leaves home, reportedly erased all online accounts, left personal items behind, and boarded a flight to an unfamiliar city where he has no known contacts.

Investigators have a message for Cavazos, urging him to reach out: “Leonardo, if you see this, you are not in any trouble. However, it would be very helpful to hear from you.”

Anyone with information about Cavazos’ whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Leslie Schmidt-Johnson at 970-674-6446 or lsjohnson@windsorgov.com. The Windsor Police Department is also reachable at 970-674-6400. All information will be kept confidential.

The family is urging the public to spread awareness of Cavazos’ disappearance, sharing their hopes for his safe return and asking for prayers and support.
