HPD Homicide investigating fatal car fire outside of business

HOUSTON, TX – Police are investigating a fatal car fire that occurred shortly after 8 a.m. in front of TAXA Outdoors in the 7900 block of Blankenship. Officers arrived at the scene to find a male inside a vehicle who had been badly burned. The male was extracted from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, investigators have not found any clear indications of foul play, but the investigation remains ongoing. Homicide detectives were called to the scene as a precaution while officers continue to gather information. The deceased is described as a Hispanic male in his 50s who was a former contractor for the business

Police are working to obtain security surveillance from nearby businesses and speak with any potential witnesses.
