HOUSTON, TX – A police officer sustained minor injuries after a wrong-way driver struck a police vehicle in the earlier this morning.
The crash occurred around 1:03 a.m. in the 2800 block of Smith Street.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction and struck the police vehicle and another car that was stopped at the intersection of Smith Street and Tuam Street.
The wrong-way driver continued driving and shortly after hit a parked vehicle. Police suspect the driver may have been intoxicated.
The officer involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. No other drivers were injured or transported.
