HOUSTON, TX – A man was pronounced deceased after crashing his pickup truck on Galveston Road early Monday morning in front of the Dorchester Apartments.

According to Houston police, the crash occurred around 5:10 a.m. Monday in the 3900 block of Galveston Road near Park Place. The driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado was reportedly speeding southbound when he approached a red light and attempted to swerve to avoid a gray Chevrolet Suburban stopped at the intersection. The Silverado clipped the Suburban’s side mirror, ran the red light, struck a culvert in front of the Dorchester Apartments, and overturned.
The driver of the Suburban was not injured. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver of the Silverado deceased at the scene.
His identity is pending notification to next of kin by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences but he is said to be 30 years old.
The investigation is ongoing.
