ATM robbery suspect struck by vehicle while fleeing deputies near East Freeway

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A robbery suspect was struck by a vehicle while fleeing from deputies near the East Freeway and Freeport, according to investigators.

The incident began after a woman was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to withdraw money from an ATM located behind a Chase Bank. The masked suspect approached her, demanded cash, and fled the scene after the victim complied.

A short time later, deputies discovered the suspect had returned to the ATM, possibly seeking another victim. Deputies pursued the suspect on foot after spotting him. During the pursuit, the suspect attempted to run across the mainlanes of the East Freeway and was struck by a third-party vehicle traveling along the westbound service road.

The male suspect was reported to be awake and breathing at the scene. He was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover. No injuries to deputies were reported.
