DA Sean Teare vows crackdown after HPD raids illegal after-hours strip club The Library on TC Jester

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police, in coordination with multiple agencies, raided The Library, an illegal after-hours strip club in the 2700 block of TC Jester. The operation, part of HPD’s “Take Back the Communities” initiative, targeted the unlicensed establishment, which had no business or alcohol permits.

According to Assistant Chief James Skelton, officers found multiple individuals inside, resulting in several arrests. The raid was conducted with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the district attorney’s office, and multiple other agencies.

Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare emphasized that unlicensed businesses like The Library contribute to crime, stating, “Entities like this, a sexually oriented business without the permits. An unlicensed alcohol, establishment that’s open until 6 a.m. It’s responsible for intoxication manslaughter, human trafficking, aggravated assaults, aggravated robberies, aggravated sexual assaults.”

Teare also stated, “And we have got to go after them. That’s something that I can promise you. Us at the DA’s office and the HPD, are committed to doing day in and day out. And this is the beginning of an operation that we are going to continue every single week until we get to take back our streets from organizations and crime drivers like this.”
