HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found inside a crashed truck at 8713 Leycrest Road early Monday morning.
The shooting was reported around 3:45 a.m. when HPD patrol officers responded to a call and discovered a truck that had veered into a ditch. The driver, a 24-year-old male, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to HPD Homicide Division investigators, neighbors reported hearing gunshots followed by the truck’s engine accelerating. At this time, there are no known witnesses, suspect descriptions, or a known motive for the shooting.
