Woman fatally stabs boyfriend after he complains she was cooking too loudly

HOUSTON, TX – A 71-year-old man was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning after complaining that a woman was being too loud while making food, according to police.

The stabbing occurred just after 2 a.m. at a residence in the 1600 block of West Alabama. Responding officers found the man down and bleeding from a significant stab wound near the shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

A 53-year-old female, believed to be the suspect, was taken into custody. Officers encountered her on foot near the location after she had left the residence.

Witnesses stated the victim and the suspect had an ongoing dating relationship, though she did not live at the residence full-time. The argument that led to the stabbing reportedly started after the victim complained about the suspect being too loud while cooking.

Officers were familiar with the location due to previous disturbance calls related to family-type disturbances.
