HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A 17-year-old male was fatally shot in the parking lot of a McDonald’s near Aldine High School.
The shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the McDonald’s parking lot located at 185 West Road. According to police, Houston Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and found the victim unresponsive. He was pronounced deceased shortly after officers arrived.
Authorities stated that surveillance footage and bystander accounts indicate the victim was with a group of young males who had recently been dismissed from Aldine High School. The group approached a vehicle in the drive-thru lane of the McDonald’s, where an altercation ensued. During the confrontation, an unknown individual inside the truck discharged a firearm, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
Investigators have identified the suspect’s vehicle as a red Dodge half-ton pickup truck. The license plate has been obtained, and law enforcement is actively searching for the vehicle.
Police have not yet determined whether the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery, an ongoing dispute, or another motive. Investigators are working to locate and interview the individuals present during the incident.
The McDonald’s is located directly across from Aldine High School, and authorities confirmed that there were no reported fights or disturbances at the school earlier in the day.
