Man fatally shot during dispute with tire shop owner

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at a tire shop in the 1000 block of Almeda Genoa

Officers from the department’s Southwest Patrol Division were dispatched to the location, along with Houston Fire Department crews, where they found an adult male who had been shot at least once. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, the deceased male went to the tire shop to check on the status of his truck, which was being worked on at the location. An argument ensued between him and the shop owner over the length of time the repairs were taking. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

During the altercation, the owner’s son retrieved a pistol and shot the customer. Homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses and speaking with the shooter. The case will be presented to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for review and possible referral to a grand jury.

The victim’s age is currently unknown.
