Man fatally shot during altercation at apartment complex in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead at The Park at Cumberland apartment complex.

Deputies responded to the complex, located at 505 Cypress Station, around 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult Black male in his 20s inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced him deceased at the scene. Family members arrived to assist in confirming his identity.

According to investigators, the victim had gone to the apartment to visit his girlfriend, who was there with another female friend. An altercation occurred between the victim and another male inside the apartment, leading to the shooting. It is unclear whether there was an exchange of gunfire or if there was a single shooter.

The suspect, described as a dark-skinned Black male possibly wearing a white hoodie, was last seen leaving in a blue or dark-colored sedan. Deputies are interviewing the two witnesses present during the incident to determine the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
