HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed and another injured after a confrontation over a vehicle break-in led to gunfire in Midtown early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred around 1:11 a.m. in the 2300 block of Bagby Street. According to police, officers arrived to find a large group of people and two gunshot victims.
The first victim, a man in his mid-20s, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to a nearby hospital. The second victim, also a man in his mid-20s, suffered a gunshot wound to his upper extremities and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to initial reports, the suspect was breaking into vehicles near Bagby and Webster Street when the vehicle’s owner and their friends confronted him. A physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect pulled out a firearm and began shooting.
There is no suspect description at this time.
