HOUSTON, TX – Two people were killed in a high-speed crash after a vehicle struck a utility pole and flipped multiple times in west Houston.
The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Highway 6 North. According to police, a Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on Highway 6 at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole, flipped several times, hit nearby trees, and came to rest upside down.
Cy-Fair EMS responded to the scene and found a female who had been ejected from the vehicle and a male who had to be extracted from the wreckage. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The collision also caused a power outage in the area. CenterPoint Energy crews are currently working to restore power.
