HOUSTON, TX – A man in his mid-30s was shot once in the leg during an incident at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Wirt Road around 9 p.m.
According to initial information, the suspect arrived at the apartment complex looking for an individual he knows through cutting hair. The resident, who lives with a roommate, answered the door, at which point the suspect displayed a weapon. The victim panicked and shut the door, prompting the suspect to fire three shots through it, striking the victim once in the leg.
The victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Tactical officers in the area apprehended the suspect based on a matching description. The suspect is currently in custody, and the District Attorney’s Office is being consulted.
