Suspect charged in McDonald’s parking lot shooting on Northwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with the shooting of a man and woman at a McDonald’s parking lot located at 10450 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m.

The suspect, Marco Antonio Gonzalez Garcia, 25, faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 351st State District Court.

According to the Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the address and found a 21-year-old male and a 19-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

Investigators determined the victims were shot while seated inside a vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect fled the scene but was later tracked to a nearby apartment complex. Officers detained three individuals at the location, and evidence, witness statements, and further investigation identified Gonzalez Garcia as the suspect.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charges, and Gonzalez Garcia was subsequently arrested.
