Payne Springs Fire Rescue responds to cooking fire in Indian Harbor

PAYNE SPRINGS, TX – Volunteers from Payne Springs Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire in the Indian Harbor community earlier today.

According to officials, the call came in at 12:19 p.m., and Engine 1 immediately deployed with four personnel, despite crews still returning equipment to service from a previous structure fire in Long Cove.

Upon arrival, responders discovered that the homeowner had successfully extinguished the fire before their arrival. Firefighters conducted a thorough check for extension and ventilated the structure to ensure safety.

Officials emphasized that cooking fires are particularly common during the holiday season and urged residents to exercise caution while preparing meals.

No injuries were reported.
