Shooting at social media pop-up party in Houston leaves two teenagers dead, 4 others injured

HOUSTON, TX Houston Police are investigating a shooting at a pop-up party in a makeshift club on Jensen Drive that left two teens fatally shot and four other young women injured late Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. at 10126 Jensen Drive at a venue known as “The Curfew Club.” According to police, officers responding to the scene observed a large number of juveniles and young adults fleeing the area. A 16-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 14-year-old female later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Four additional victims—all females—sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals. A 13-year-old remains in critical condition, an 18-year-old is in serious condition, and two others, aged 17 and 19, are in stable condition.

Witnesses reported seeing a tall, thin Black male suspect wearing all-black clothing, a hooded sweatshirt, and a black mask firing a pistol into a crowd inside the venue. At least one victim was reportedly transported to a hospital in a private vehicle.

Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division are interviewing witnesses and following leads, but no suspect(s) have been identified at this time.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire, was also at the scene. “It’s a tragedy. I feel for the families. We ought to keep them in our prayers. We lost some young people tonight that was very preventable if they didn’t come to locations such as this.”
