HOUSTON, TX – A woman was shot in the face during an attempted robbery in her apartment complex parking lot. The incident occurred in the 6100 block of Gulf Freeway at the Brookdale Village Apartments when the woman returned home from work and was followed into the parking lot by an unknown male suspect. The suspect demanded money from the woman, and during the exchange, he fired a round, striking her in the face.
After the gunshot, the suspect fled the scene. The woman managed to run into her apartment and called 911. Eastside Patrol officers arrived promptly, rendered aid, and called Houston Fire Department (HFD) personnel, who then transported her to a local hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.
