EUDORA, Ark. – The Chicot County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to investigate a house fire that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old boy.
The fire took place yesterday, Thursday, October 24, 2024, around 7:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Pine Street. A neighbor reportedly saved a 6-year-old child by removing him from the home before firefighters arrived. Firefighters later located the deceased child inside after extinguishing the fire.
The child’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination. ASP’s Fire and Explosive section will conduct a full investigation into the fire’s origin and cause.
