Woman found deceased in field identified as Cortney Hall

29-year-old Cortney Hall has now been identified as the victim that was found Wednesday morning by a landscape worker in Generation Park.

According to investigators, Hall’s body had been at the scene for several days before being found.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide investigators were able to determine that 25-year-old Christopher Bernard was a suspect and arrested him on Friday.

Bernard admitted during an interview that he met Hall, who was working as a prostitute, at a motel. An altercation occurred during their meeting, and Bernard confessed to strangling Hall. He later transported her body and dumped it in the field where she was found.

Bernard was arrested at his residence without incident by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and now faces a murder charge. He also had another case last year for solicitation of prostitution, according to court documents, but that case was dismissed.

If you have any further information, you are urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
