Man shot after dropping off children, woman caught in crossfire

HOUSTON, TX – A man and a bystander were injured in a shooting that followed a disturbance in a northeast Houston neighborhood late Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 10100 block of Valley Club.

According to Houston Police, a man arrived at the location to drop off his children at their mother’s house when an argument broke out. Another male inside the residence became agitated, displayed a handgun, and opened fire as the victim attempted to flee.

The victim escaped and flagged down officers near Tidwell and Mesa Road. During the shooting, an adult female who was not involved in the initial disturbance was also struck. Both victims are reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect is in custody, and police are questioning witnesses. The suspect briefly remained inside the home but surrendered when officers made contact. Although there were children inside the home, none were injured.
