HOUSTON, TX – A family disturbance escalated into a shooting early Sunday morning in southwest Houston, leaving two men injured.
The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. in the 8500 block of Cayton. According to Houston Police, a physical altercation broke out between two adult male family members. One family member assaulted the other, prompting the victim to act in self-defense by producing a firearm and shooting the suspect in the leg.
The suspect was treated on scene by Houston Fire Department personnel and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The victim of the initial assault is also receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
Police recovered the firearm and have the suspect in custody.
