LA PORTE, TEXAS – April 22, 2024 – A structure fire was reported early Monday morning in the 300 block of S. Virginia Street. The La Porte Police Department (LPPD) received the initial call at approximately 6:50 a.m., and the La Porte Fire Department (LPFD) was dispatched to the scene.
On the way there, they received notification that an adult female was trapped inside.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke and attempted to rescue the victim. Unfortunately, fire conditions pushed firefighters out of the structure and the woman was not able to be rescued by crews.
Mutual aid was provided by the Port Houston Fire Department, Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, and Seabrook Fire Department.
