HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was fatally shot in northeast Harris County after an altercation that occurred on Saturday around 6 p.m. The incident took place in the 5200 block of Aldine Mail Route, in the U-turn lane underneath the Eastex Freeway.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the confrontation began when a man, later identified as the victim, exited a Ford Explorer and approached a light-colored sedan. The initial altercation involved the victim striking the male driver of the sedan. In response, the driver of the sedan retrieved a pistol and fired at the man, striking him.
The victim, estimated to be around 30 years old, was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The shooter fled the scene following the incident. Additionally, a one-year-old child was discovered unharmed in the backseat of the victim’s vehicle. Out of precaution, a family member took the child to the hospital.
