Video: D.J. Hayden among six killed in Downtown Houston car crash Friday night

HOUSTON, TEXAS – The Houston Police Department has released the names of six individuals who died in a traffic accident at 2000 Fannin Street around 2 a.m. on Saturday, November 11.

The deceased are Izuchu Oragwu, 31, Frank Johnson, 31, Zachary McMillian, 32, Derek Hayden, 33, Christian Herrera, 25, and Lauren Robinson, 32.

The incident occurred when a black Acura SUV, driven by Ms. Robinson and heading eastbound on Pierce Street, entered the intersection with Fannin Street on a green light. Simultaneously, a black Chrysler 300 driven by Mr. Herrera, traveling southbound on Fannin Street at a high rate of speed, ran a red light and collided with the Acura. This collision resulted in the ejection of three occupants from the Acura and caused the Chrysler to leave the roadway, striking Mr. Johnson, a pedestrian.

Both drivers, Ms. Robinson and Mr. Herrera, were pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Oragwu were also declared deceased at the scene, with Mr. McMillian and Mr. Hayden later dying at a hospital.

Two other passengers from the Acura, a 32-year-old male and a 30-year-old female, remain hospitalized. The female is in critical but stable condition, and the male is stable, with both able to communicate.

No passengers were believed to be in the Chrysler at the time of the accident.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
