**Woman Found Shot Dead in Southwest Houston Apartment**
HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 19, 2023 – A woman in her 20s was found shot in the head in her apartment on the 10200 block of West Bellfort Boulevard in southwest Houston on Saturday. Neighbors discovered her body and she was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Houston police were called to the location around 8 p.m. due to a possible homicide. The woman’s neighbors, who had known her for several years, noticed her door was half open and decided to investigate. Upon entering her apartment and finding her on the ground, they immediately called the Houston Fire Department.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, confirming a gunshot wound to the head. Shell casings were also discovered at the scene.
The victim, who lived in the apartment with her father, has not been identified. Her father was not present in the apartment at the time of the incident.
No arrests have been made, and the case is still under active investigation by the Houston Police Department. Authorities are seeking any information that may lead to the apprehension of those responsible for this tragic event.
