Fatal Crash at Hidden Valley Drive Under Investigation in Houston
Houston, TX – Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1001 Hidden Valley Drive at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18. The identity of the deceased 80-year-old female driver is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the female was driving a white Ford Edge eastbound on Hidden Valley when the incident occurred. A 55-year-old male driver was traveling northbound on Bunny Run Drive in a black Toyota Tacoma at the same time. Preliminary investigations suggest that both drivers failed to heed the 4-way stop signs at the intersection of Hidden Valley and Bunny Run Drive, leading to a collision between the vehicles.
Although the Ford struck the Toyota and caused minor damage, it is believed that the female driver suffered a medical episode, which may have contributed to the accident. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where she was later pronounced dead.
The male driver of the Toyota Tacoma remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He showed no signs of intoxication and was questioned before being released. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash is ongoing.
