A suspect has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of a woman at 9701 Stella Link Road on March 2. The suspect, Miroslav Liliev Mishev, 30, is currently in the Sutton County Jail, and his driver’s license photo is attached to this news release.
The victim, Lilia Misheva, 69, was found deceased in her apartment after Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a call. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined that the cause of death was strangulation.
Further investigation revealed that Mishev killed his mother after she refused to give him her car. He then fled the scene in her 2015 Honda Civic, wallet, and cell phone. He was later apprehended by Sutton County Sheriff’s deputies in Sonora, Texas.
On March 9, Mishev was charged with capital murder in the 183rd State District Court for the death of his mother. He is currently awaiting extradition to Harris County. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective B. Nabors led the investigation.
