November 28, 2022 – According to Lt. J.P. Horelica of the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a report of a major accident in the 9600 block of the Southwest Freeway in Houston.
When officers arrived they found a black sedan with multiple bullet holes. Police discovered two males in the back sedan that had suffered gunshot wounds. Both of them were transported to a local hospital. One of the victims is said to be in stable condition while the other is said to be in critical condition.
Police quickly determined that the black sedan was involved in a shooting as they were heading eastbound down Bissonnet Street in southwest Houston. As they crossed the intersection of Bissonnet and the Southwest Freeway, they ran a red light and crashed into a black Jeep.
The occupants of the Jeep, a young couple, only suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene. They are believed to have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time and had nothing to do with the shooting.
A woman was also found inside the black sedan but she did not suffer any injuries and police believe she was a witness that may be able to provide them with more information.
Investigators with the Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults Division will be conducting a follow-up investigation and will be pulling surveillance video from nearby businesses that may have caught the incident on camera. Police ask that if you have any information about the case you are urged to contact the Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults Division or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
This is a developing story. We will update you as soon as we have any more information.
